Here are some tips and tricks for using WD-40 in your home.
CARPET STAIN REMOVER
WD- 40 is known for its use on the tougher side of fixing stuff. Did you know its also an excellent carpet stain remover?
Simply spray onto the stained area. Leave on for 10 minutes. Wipe with a wet sponge and your favorite carpet cleaner until the stain is no longer visible. Our carpets can really use this helper.
REMOVE CAR PAINT RUBS
Ouch! You got a blotch of paint on your car from another car who may just accidentally put it there. There is no need to fuss.
Spray WD-40 on the paint and wipe it away. This will saves you a few bucks at the car workshop. If you own a car, it would be wise to keep a can of WD -40 in hand.
REMOVE CRAYONS FROM WALL
We have those little artists running around drawing on every flat surface they find. Some of these surfaces are our walls. If crayon stains just manage to pop up on your walls don’t panic.
Before you run to buy a ton of paint, consider WD-40. This amazing agent can and will easily erase crayon marks from your walls without an effort. Spray the area and wipe with a clean cloth or paper towel.
REMOVE LIPSTICK STAINS
Lipstick stains can be almost impossible to remove. This is not even removable by bleaching. If you should somehow manage to get lipstick on your clothes, be careful not to wipe with water or bleach this could make it worse.
Grab hold of a can of WD-40. Spray onto the stain, leave on for 2 minutes and gently wipe away in strokes.
TOILET CLEANER
I know you have learned or heard of many things around the house that can be used to clean your toilet but have you ever heard of WD-40?
This is very unique and cost-effective and it also has multiple purposes. To clean your toilet using WD-40, simply spray the inside with WD-40. Let it rest for 15 minutes brush with a toilet brush. This will remove any stubborn stain that just wouldn’t go.
SILVERWARE REVIVOR
Silver loses its elegance as the years go by. They are very expensive to replace. Bring them back to looking like new with this one amazing trick.
Spray silverwares with WD-40. Allow sitting for 15 minutes. Place ware in a sink with warm water, lather with dish soap and rinse. Remove and dry with a paper towel for that elegant shine.
BUG-FREE
Bothered by flies? spraying those expensive and hazardous bug sprays can cause damage to you and your family.
Stop that pesky fly from coming in by spraying around your windows and doors with WD-40. They will be disappointed by the smell and bug off. Your family will thank you for your effort.
STOVE DRIP PAN CLEANER
Greasy build-up on your stove can be very difficult to remove. This can also cause a fire too. That’s why it’s very important to clean them thoroughly.
WD-40 is the perfect drip pan cleaner. Simply remove drip pan, spray WD-40 all over. Allow sitting for 5 minutes. Wash with your choice of dish soap. Rinse with warm water and dry before using it.
STOP SQUEAKS
Just in case this is new to you. WD-40 is an excellent agent used on squeaky doors and machines. If your door hinge just won’t swing the way it used to.
It could be getting old and rusty and need a little greasing. Spray WD-40 on rusty areas and squeaky ones to have them running freely again.
REMOVE DUCT TAPE
Duct tape has the record as the strongest tape there is. Actually removing it can almost be impossible. Pulling too hard can remove a piece of whatever it is taped to. To avoid this occurrence, spray WD-40 on the area then slowly pull away the tape to avoid any damage. The surface will be as if it had never been taped.
INK STAIN REMOVER
Who knows that ink stains could be so easily removed in these modern times. Chemicals are being made to make hard tasks becomes more easy and exciting to do.WD-40 is one of those chemicals.
Spray ink stain with WD-40 and leave on for 5 minutes. Slowly dap area with a damp rag or cotton ball. Do this until ink becomes pale. Wash shortly after before it is dried, or you may have to repeat all over again.
DIY WATERPROOF BOOTS
Don’t let snow or water ruined those boots you love and paid so much for. Its a snowy or rainy day but you still want to wear them.
You can protect them by spraying WD-40 on your boots to protect them from water damage. This will not stop water from sneaking through, but it will surely stop the exterior from being damaged.
LOOSEN STUCKED ZIPPER
Oops! on the go and your zipper, just won’t move?. Pulling and thugging can actually ruin your zipper.
Slowly spray along the zipper line some WD-40 and gently pull to release zipper. Your zipper should be running without a hitch once more.
GLASS SURFACES
IT can be anything from a sticker to greasy fingerprints on your glass. A mist of WD-40 can erase it. Spray WD-40 on your glass, gently wipe in downward strokes.
This will prevent residues you are wiping away from going back. With a sheet of newspaper [crushed], wipe in circular motions to accomplish that perfect shine.
UNCLOG TUB SPOUT DIVERTER
Hard water will get your tub spout diverter clogged, because of all the deposits it leaves. You can clear it up by lubricating it with some WD-40.
AIR CONDITIONING DUST FILTER
Before installing that new filter, you may want to spray WD-40 onto it. Doing this will help to trap the dust even more effective than just placing the filter in by itself.
Simply spray and install. You will see the results when its time for cleaning your filter again. This will leave your home or office more breathable.
UNTANGLE SILVER JEWELRY
Jewelry has a way of tangling themselves together. This can be very challenging to undo without breaking something. Before you get really frustrated, try this.
Using WD-40 slightly spray onto the jewelry and slowly begin untangling them. They won’t have a scratch and you may end up with an even more radiant jewelry collection. Have fun untangling!
REMOVE OIL SPOTS FROM CONCRETE
This sounds like the perfect solution for those spots in your driveway. Greasy and spotty concrete is an unpleasant sight. It is really not an easy task trying to remove with just physical strength.
Here is a much better idea. Spray WD-40 on the spotty areas. After 10 minutes, use a bristle broom or brush to wash away using warm water. Concrete will be clean and spot-free.
REMOVE GREASE FROM GRILLS
That big holiday is near and the grill is a mess. You may just want to give your grill a thorough redo. Using WD-40 can make your grill look like it should for that big day.
