Equipment Needed

Blender– To mix the sauce ingredients for this recipe, you will need a high-speed blender.

Knife– You’ll need a small knife to peel the cloves of garlic before blending them.

Bowl– Use a medium sauce bowl to serve the alfredo sauce.

Main Ingredients

Heavy Cream– For this recipe, I used 1 1/2 cups of Land O Lakes heavy cream in the sauce, but you can another brand if you don’t like this one.

Parmesan– I used freshly grated parmesan cheese (Bel Gioioso) for the sauce, which gave the alfredo an amazingly rich and delicious flavor. If this cheese isn’t available to you, use the best one you can find.

Substitutes

Heavy Cream– To substitute the heavy cream in this recipe, you can use an equal amount of whole milk instead. If it doesn’t whip to the desired thickness, just add a little cornstarch to thicken.

Parmesan– Use either an equal amount of Gruyere cheese or shredded Mozzarella cheese to replace the parmesan cheese in this recipe.

All The Ingredients

  • Garlic– Peeled and combined with heavy cream, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  • Heavy Cream– Gives the sauce a rich and creamy taste and texture.
  • Parmesan Cheese– Grated and blended with the other sauce ingredients.
  • Salt & Pepper– Added to the alfredo sauce for flavor.

How To Make Alfredo Sauce

  1. I placed the 4 cloves of garlic, 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, 1 1/2 cup heavy cream, salt, and pepper into the blender.
  2. Then, I blended the ingredients until the mixture became thick, transferred it to a sauce bowl, and dug in. It was divine!

Why Use Grated Parmesan

For this recipe, I grated 1/2 cup of parmesan to use in the alfredo sauce. Why use freshly grated cheese instead of a pre-grated kind? When freshly grated, parmesan cheese has a richer flavor and softer texture, making it ideal for the sauce.

Alternate Way

To make the alfredo sauce, I used a blender to combine all the ingredients until the mixture thickened up; this was fast and easy! If you don’t have a blender, you can use a food processor instead. Just add all the ingredients in and pulse until the mixture stops splashing and thickens.

How To Store

To store this alfredo sauce, just place it in an airtight jar or container and refrigerate for 4-7 days. Want to stock it for even longer? You can put it in the same container or a freezer-safe bag and keep it frozen for up to 6 months.

This delicious cheese sauce is so easy to make and versatile; you can eat it almost any time of the day! Have it with fresh veggies, meatballs, or pasta for dinner; you can even have it with pretzels or crackers for a delicious snack!
