Having to deal with scratches on your eyeglasses can be a real pain. It is important for you to be cautious when attempting to fix or remove these scratches from your expensive eyeglasses.

However, some of these scratches can actually be removed or at least improved. Just be careful and try not to be too aggressive, as glasses are very delicate and easy to get damaged.

You can even use some regular household products to help repair your eyeglasses. Here are a few…

Refined Baking Soda

Car Cleaning Wax

Non- Abrasive Toothpaste

Brass Polish (For Plastic Lens Only)

Always make sure to use a soft wool cloth to apply whatever product you are using to fix your eyeglasses. After buffing away scratches, rinse your eyeglasses with cold water. Wipe dry, and repeat the process if necessary.

A commercial product you could opt to use to remove scratches from your eyeglasses is Glass Etching Cream. But this will only work on glasses with plastic lenses.

Remember, be careful when trying to repair your expensive glasses on your own. You don’t want to cause furniture damage or run yourself into additional expenses.

It is best to try conventional methods first before attempting to use any alternative methods. Or you can always go to your doctor for recommendations on how to fix your lenses or to see if you will actually need to change them.

Prevention is always better than cure. So try to avoid getting your eyeglasses by keeping it in a case. You want to do this as much as possible when you are not wearing it.

If you don’t have a case for your eyeglasses, you can keep it safe by wrapping it in a microfibre cloth when not in use. This will keep your lenses safe especially when you are travelling and need to put it in your handbag.

Please remember to be very gentle in your attempts to fix your eyeglasses.
