How To Serve Chocolate Whipped Cream
This delicious recipe is best served cold and on top of your delicious desserts. Chocolate Whipped Cream is perfect for frosting a double chocolate cake or eating with an ice cream sundae. You can even use it to top a pie! The possibilities are endless.
This whipped cream recipe will make 3 cups of chocolaty topping. With this yield, you can top cupcakes and offer them as a snack to guests. Use a dollop on a cheesecake for dessert after dinner, or enjoy it at your leisure with some juicy strawberries for snacking.
Bowl– Use a medium bowl to place the ingredients for the whipped cream.
Mixer– You will need an electric hand beater to whip the ingredients. You can use a stand mixer if that’s what you have.
Rubber Spatula– Use this to scrape the bowl’s sides to ensure that all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Heavy cream– I like to use the Land O Lakes brand of heavy cream, but you can use your preferred brand.
Cocoa Powder– For this recipe, I used Hersey’s unsweetened cocoa powder to give the whipped cream its chocolaty flavor.
Confectioner’s Sugar– If you don’t have any confectioner’s sugar on hand, you can make it by blending granulated sugar and cornstarch until light and smooth. For this recipe, combine 1/2 cup G. sugar, 1/2 tablespoon of cornstarch, as per the recipe.

- Take the bowl from the freezer, remove the beaters, and place all 3 ingredients inside.
- Using your electric mixer with cold beater attachments, beat the bowl’s contents for 4-5 minutes until the mixture forms stiff peaks. Serve.

I first chilled a metal bowl and detachable beaters in the freezer, then used them to mix the ingredients. Why chill them? Heavy cream whips best when cold, so to keep the cream as cold as possible, both the bowl and beater had to be cold.
Alternate Mixing Method
I used the electric mixer to beat the ingredients until I achieved a thick and creamy texture. However, if you do not have an electric mixer, you can use a whisk to beat the ingredients manually. Just use a little elbow grease, and you’ll finish in no time!
